A week abroad spent living on island time... Earlier this month, our team visited the island of O‘ahu to connect with our Hawaiian community. Amongst the events we managed to stay, explore and eat + drink at some pretty magical places. So, to make your vacation planning a little easier {because let’s be honest, it’s getting to that time of the year} ~ we’ve listed our must-do’s below.

Stay
A recommendation that you’re not going to want to skip out on… We stayed in Hawaiis most recently renovated boutique hotel, the Wayfinder, perfectly situated in the heart of Waikiki. Surrounded by some of our favourite restaurants and shops, the Wayfinder really was placed in the perfect location. We just adored the retro inspired interiors with pops of colour that somehow always managed to match our outfits. Topped off with a resort pool lined with day beds to sip a Mai Tai or two, and a jacuzzi for those needing a little r&r.

Eat + Drink
Surrounded by highly rated restaurants and bars, picking a spot for a dinner reservation wasn’t an easy task. If you want to catch one of the best sunsets in Hawaii with a table right on the sand, we couldn’t go past the Royal Hawaiian - perfectly pink and oozing with Hawaiian vibes. For something a little more bougie, natuRe Hawaii would have to be our top pick {hot tip: book in advance}! If you’re busy exploring the island and looking for something on the go, pop into one of Sunrise Shacks five locations around the island, our fave can be found at Sunset Beach.

Explore
Our hottest tip would be to explore the entire island, don’t limit yourself to Waikiki… There’s so much to see from top to bottom and from left to right, set aside a day to lap the island! Take your time exploring the North Shore, from rock pools to some of the world best surf breaks - you’ll be overwhelmed with things to do. One of our favourite towns was the town of Hale’iwa ~ a main strip lined with the sweetest coloured weatherboard shops and cafes, the perfect pitstop for lunch and coffee {and be sure to check out our stockist, Guava Shop}.

Island Hop
If time permits, make the effort to visit another island! We caught a 30 minute flight to the island of Maui and in true Hawaiian style, we hired a Jeep for our island adventure. A must-do is to explore the Road to Hana… a narrow windy drive on the eastern side of the island showcasing some of the states best waterfalls, beaches, fruit and souvenir stalls and the famous Wai’ānapanapa State Park to visit the black sand beach {hot tip: make an online reservation before visiting}!
